There are churches that are faithful to the Gospel but are not engaging culture and there are churches that engage culture but are not being faithful to the Gospel. Our deep conviction is that it takes both to see transformation take place.
THE CULTURE + THE GOSPEL = THE KINGDOMAt Vision 360 we believe that Jesus left us a model for transforming society and collaborating with Him in the establishment of His kingdom. This model requires servant-leaders who understand how to collaborate for the transformation of their cities. Collaboration however is a new skill for most church leaders. This is why it all begins with following Jesus’ example of servant-leadership.
SERVANT - LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENTOur definition of the kind of servant leadership required for establishing churches that can change the world through the transformation of their city is to be: Jesus Centered, Scripturally Guided, Movement Driven, Empowering Emerging Leaders.
Vision360 believes strongly in the Church Planter Assessment process and employs 2 assessment tools:
1
Pre-Assessment :
churchplanterprofiles.com is a simple online tool that is used to provide the content for a meaningful conversation and pre-qualify the candidate to move to the next step, an on-site assessment.
2
On-Site Assessment :
A Church Planting Assessment Center is an intensive multi-day experience which combines interviews, interactive exercises, individual and group presentations, and written evaluations by peers, assessors, and the candidates themselves. The combination of these elements is fast-paced and grueling and is headed towards answering one question, "Is this person ‘called’, gifted and ready to lead a new church plant?"
While we have multiple options for helping leaders take the next step in their personal development, our primary template for preparing church planters also includes a four-day assessment process. Vision360 utilizes several on-site Assessment Centers, including: CPAC, Converge Worldwide, ECC, PCA, ARC, and Acts 29.
Each planter is expected to complete two weeks of core intensive training modules and engage in regional monthly Networking and Training Events that include content and skills deemed essential to starting a healthy, reproducing church.
Coaching is an indispensable component and required requisite for all church planters. The coaching relationship provides the church planter a “voice” that helps guide their entire efforts in a holistic approach. This helps insure that their personal and ministry lives are in sync and healthy. “Spiritual warfare” always becomes a reality of these Kingdom efforts.
Upon receiving the recommendation from the assessment team, the planter formulates four strategic plans:
Personal Wellness Plan :
addresses issues such as guarding your heart, your marriage, your family, and your finances
Launch Plan :
indicates the people God has called you to reach and exactly how you intend to reach them
Master Ministry Plan :
displays the integration of ministry systems within each church
Biblical Literacy Plan :
a strategy to insure continuous growth in understanding the Bible
At monthly Networking & Training Events, leaders participate in a gathering with other Vision360 church planters in their city to connect relationally and missionally. The training component of these meetings focuses on issues encountered in the first two years of a new church.
